"Calculation of the estimated amount of monetary compensation for pregnancy and childbirth"is the new electronic service available to users through the NSSI website (www.nssi.bg).
It is intended for expectant mothers or other persons entitled to cash pregnancy benefit and childbirth.

Through it, they will receive information about the estimated amount of payment for upcoming or planned use of this type of leave. So, depending on the current and expected future insurance income, these persons will be able to make their informed decision or receive indicative information about the amount of their income for a future period.
The new e-service can be accessed by filling in personal data - EGN or personal number of a foreigner (LNCH) and Personal Identification Code (PIC) issued by the National Institute of National Statistics. After entering the data, the system checks the correctness of the identifiers and tracks whether the person was granted such compensation up to ten months ago. If the checks are successfully passed and there is no information about such type of leave used, the service is visualized on the screen.
To calculate an estimated size of the pregnancy and childbirth benefit, each person must be aware of the possible date on which the birth is expected (due date) or know when the use of pregnancy and/or maternity leave begins (the system allows entering a future date up to one year ahead). Information about the person's income for the future months up to the selected date is also required. In the event that such information is not entered by the person, the system automatically uses the amount of the minimum wage effective at the time of the reference. Data on the insurance income for the period from which the benefit is calculated and which have already been submitted by the insurer or the self-insured person, shall not be entered. They are automatically extracted from the Register of Insured Persons (ROL).
After completing the data entry procedure, the calculation of the estimated daily amount of the monetary compensation, which will be paid for each working day of the future leave period.
The new e-service of NOI does not assess the right to pay out monetary compensation. By entering the data, it is assumed that the necessary conditions for this have been met. The calculated compensation amount has only a preliminary, predictive nature, based on the information entered into the system.
